My purpose: Hello, I’m Jen! I started this recipe blog in 2009 for my kids, quite simply. I want them to have easy access to the things they grew up having for dinner… and alllll the countless cookies and cakes we’ve made a million times for birthdays, holidays, or for a “Sunday treat”. It’s so easy for me to share a recipe link with them from here, or they can search my blog themselves. This blog also helps me create my grocery list! I can copy and paste the ingredients from here and add it to my grocery list note on my phone. Because this is the purpose, my blog is very amateur, and 100% done with a joyful heart. 💕 I’ve spent hours upon hours creating posts, calculating ingredients, and STOPPING everyone from taking a bite cause mom needs a picture first! 🤣 Goooood times, good times.
Some of these recipe pictures are so dang old and outdated looking, but I don’t have the heart to retake them, cause they are almost vintage at this point. Hilarious and cringe-worthy when I see them, but each one takes me back to the house we lived in at the time… how little the kids were… and some I’ve noted their comments when they ate that treat or dinner as a toddler. Reading them 15+ years later, is so tender.
The recipes: I enjoy being in the kitchen and trying new recipes. My all time favorites that I use over and over, have come from Brandon's side of the family, and I have them on here! They are country rooted and have a wholesome feel that I appreciate and DID NOT grow up with. I remember growing up on Kool Aid and saltine crackers. Haha
Now that I live in a rural area myself... I have collected many tasty recipes from neighbors and friends as well.
I also love healthy recipes and getting as much protein in as I can. I’ll have to do better at sharing those! I am an avid calorie counter, so I personally do the math of each recipe and include nutrition facts at the bottom of the more recent posts.

A little more about me and my bunch ----> I lived in California during my grade school years, then moved to Utah when I was 11 years old. I grew up in the suburb areas of Utah. Brandon and I met in 2008. He took me for a tractor ride on our 3rd date, that sealed the deal, and I knew I would never want to leave his side.
We are members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and were married in the Salt Lake City Temple on September 26, 2008.
We started off with 3 kids, then had 3 more together... we have a Yours (Baylee & Abbee), Mine (Kalyssa), & Ours (William, Paisley, and Emmy) kind of family. Having a family of eight was a lot of work for a while… so I thought! With each new grand baby, we’re growing bigger and bigger. And so does your heart 🩷 They are heaven.
Brandon owns and operates two businesses, Air Field Ag and Pasture Pros. I am a part-time Nail Technician, working from my in-home salon.
I cherish being a wife and mother above all else. I look forward to the current shuffle of teenagers to and from sports, and the slower days I can snuggle the grand kids. I am so blessed!
Brandon is my best friend. With each passing year, I love him more!
Thanks for stopping by.
